Camilla Puccini was raised in a Swiss American family in Switzerland where she completed her first segment of institutional education with a degree in Teaching in 2001. The joy of playing in bands from early age, where voice became her dominant creative medium, encouraged her immigration to Oslo, Norway in 2004 to pursue her growing interest in electronic music production and composition. Between 2004 and 2008 she got invited by performance groups, directors and artists to create and mix original sound to their stage work, such as Hotel ProForma, Akt5 (Kim Atle Hansen) and was involved in a variety of events with the state funded Podium Galleri collective as co-curator, conceptual performer, vocalist with the Noise Choir and more. In 2009 she relocated to the Bay Area and began in 2013 her education in Cinema Studies at City College of San Francisco, where she is currently enrolled. Raphael Villet spent the last 3 months finding and talking with a diverse cross section of Bay Area residents about what compels people to collect records. He interviewed small and big time record collectors, dj’s, record store owners and bands and made audio recordings of their stories, thoughts and reflections about records. These conversations took places in homes, record stores, flea markets, radio stations, and many other places that records are found and were compiled into a 57 minute audio documentary to be presented at the Oakland Museum of California (opening reception on April 18). Accompanying the audio are 35 photographs taken by the artist of the people featured in this project.
